PRINCIPALS
Lance Fraker, President/CEO
Lance Fraker received his undergraduate degree in Finance from San Diego State University. In 1990, he entered the mapping business and created one of the very first digital maps in the country. His company worked directly with Lee, County Alabama to publish and maintain the very first street maps for the county 9-1-1 department. This included a digital map for dispatching and street atlases for use in departmental cars and trucks. After relocating to South Florida, Lance's skills and knowledge led him to a South Florida map company where he became the lead sales executive. As lead sales executive he worked with many large organizations (Barnett Bank/NationsBank/Bank of America, First Union, WCI Properties, Coldwell Banker, Palm Beach County Board of Realtors etc.) to help these clients with their mapping needs. After 8 years he expanded his horizons to a much larger and nationally known map company where he was in charge of custom mapping for a wide range of clients. At this company he also worked with large entities such as AT&T, Chicago Board of Realtors, Cuyahoga and Hamilton County, Ohio Engineers' Offices to fulfill their mapping needs. Lance was directly responsible for converting many of these clients into digital or GIS based maps from old manual cartographic bases.
Larry Epstein, Vice-President/CFO
Larry Epstein’s passion for maps started when he was 5 years old, by collecting maps his father and grandfather would bring home from business trips or vacations. A graduate of the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida with a degree in Business Administration, Larry began his career and experience in the mapping industry with a summer position at the Broward County, Florida, Publications office. This office produced the street maps for county emergency managers, 9-1-1, fire and sheriff’s offices.
During his 27 years in the public and private sector of the map industry he has learned the fundamental elements of cartography including map research, compilation, drafting, editing, map layout, etc. He has been involved with the technological change of the map industry from the "old school" hand-drawn maps to the "new school" digital map era.
Alex Nitzman, Map Specialist/Webmaster
Maps and highways have intrigued Alex Nitzman since early childhood. He planned the routes of family trips and committed the Interstate system to memory by age ten. While attending the University of Delaware studying geography in 1998, Alex entered the World Wide Web with his first website including Delaware Highways and the Highway Sign Gallery. Joining forces with Andy Field, Alex co-created AARoads.com in 2000 in an effort to provide the most comprehensive highway site on the web.
Creating maps for AARoads.com and Interstate-Guide.com followed and in 2005, Alex joined a southeastern US regional map company as a field researcher and cartographer. In 2008, he joined a national map company where Alex expanded his cartographic knowledge to include GIS technology while researching maps.
